Analysis

Finite element analysis (FEA) is a software based simulation tool that shows how a part or assembly behaves when faced with physical conditions (force, pressure, vibration, etc). Finite element analysis typically yields a color map and scale of strain, stress, and displacement. This form of analysis ensures the product is going to behave as intended. Red highlighted areas show regions of excessive wear, strain, or displacement. Finite Element Analysis is critical to the design phase because it allows the designer to subject a product to a host of virtual scenarios, and make design changes accordingly — all before constructing a physical product.
